Iranian leaders must be punished in terms of UN resolution 260 (III) A

Article 3(c) of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, that was established by the above resolution, states unambiguously that punishable acts include

“Direct and public incitement to commit genocide”

And it is indisputable that the repeated calls by Iranian leaders for the destruction of Israel fall under this clause 3(c).

Article 4 states that persons committing any of the acts enumerated in Article 3 shall be punished, whether they are constitutionally responsible rulers, public officials or private individuals.

According to NBC News of July 18, 2015, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a fiery speech that Iran would always oppose the “arrogant” United States. In an address at a Tehran mosque punctuated by chants of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel”, the hardliner said the deal was only about nuclear issues, pledging: “We won’t let foreigners interfere with our affairs.

Khamenei warned America that it was making “grave mistakes” in the region, adding: “Five U.S. presidents have tried to bring Iran to its knees and they are either dead or lost in history.”
In November last year CNN reported that the Ayoyallah had even made an annihilation call through Twitter. Mixed in with tweets insisting that Iran is committed to diplomacy on other issues, Khamenei posted a series of tweets slamming Israel. Among them was a document called “9 key questions about elimination of Israel.” While he and other Iranian leaders have spoken similarly of Israel in the past, the one-page document, packed with specific details, was new.

“We have nothing to talk to America about with regard to regional and global issues,” he added. “We have no bilateral issue to discuss.”

Israel is only the first of states to be annihilated by Iran. America is the Great Satan.

To add fuel to the many past calls by Iranian leaders to wipe Israel off the map, Khamenei recently published a lengthy book calling for the destruction of the Jewish state, the USA and other countries. According to the New York Post, which claims it was sent a copy of the book called Palestine, the book outlines a strategy for a decades-long ‘jihad’ which first sees Israel brought under Islamic rule, followed by much of the rest of the world.

As both Israel and Iran as well as the P5 countries are signatories to the convention, they are all duty bound to implement the requirements of this resolution

Significantly this convention which was adopted in 1948 was a follow up to G.A. Res. 180(II) of 21 December 1947 in which the UN recognized that

“genocide is an international crime, which entails the national
and international responsibility of individual persons and states.”
